Argus Media is the world's largest independent energy news and price reporting agency. It uses a precise and transparent methodology to assess prices in the oil, electricity, natural gas, coal, emissions and transportation markets. Many Argus assessments are used as a reference price by major market participants in physical and swaps contracts. Argus also publishes a broad range of business-critical intelligence reports on the energy, transportation and emissions markets which contain exclusive data and expert analysis of industry developments and trends.
The FT Global Media Monitor project comprised a complete re-write of the existing front end to accommodate FT's requirements for advanced branding and enhanced functionality. I project managed the effort, provided prototypes and wireframes to FT development and marketing personnel, re-wrote the base code, installed a staging environment, designed and deployed the managed applications components, and trained FT, divine, and end-user personnel on the new application.
FT Portlets were developed as a component of the standard release for IBM's Websphere portal product. There are three portlets, each with enhanced functions and features. The same portlets have also been developed for the CA Cleverpath portal.
My role comprised initial technical and business consultation around the suitability of dECC, NewsMachine and divine Managed Services as a provider for the total solution. The role progressed to one of project management, front-end design, liasing with FT Marketing, Engineering and Business sponsors, as well as the same spheres with the portal vendors and divine to manage the process to completion. Finally, when divine ceased operations, I engineered and facilitated the transfer of the managed applications component from divine to another provider.

Design and Admin GUI concepts for the SageWave portal product. I developed the display schema for the version 4.5 SageWave portal UI customization and branding routines. This was implemented in version 4.5 and was deployed by British Gas, Dynegy, Barclays IBD, divine intranet, divine Enterprise Portal (hosted), and was the default portal wrapper for all divine ECC software.
Develop and deploy functional UI for Computer Associates CleverPath portal. Comprised multiple SageMaker portlets embedded in the CA portal, displayed at CA World trade shows 2001. Used as model for de-coupling SageMaker portlets for use in other portal products.
